Purification of water – Take it seriously before it’s too late

Purification of water is essential for environmental hygiene as well as for drinking. We use water every day for cleaning, drinking, washing, and bathing. Utilization of clean water for these purposes is crucial. Several diseases that spread by contact with contaminated water have been reported. A few that can spread because of contaminated water and poor sanitation are cholera, diarrhea, dysentery, hepatitis A, typhoid, and polio. Water comprises around 60% of our body and performs numerous vital bodily processes, such as controlling body temperature, removing toxins, and safeguarding tissues, joints, and the spinal cord.

Access to clean drinking water is a fundamental human right despite this many country facing challenges due to unavailability of clean water. These days various water purification methods are available. NGO’s, Government bodies are making efforts in regions where clean drinking water is inaccessible. Here in this post we have listed out 7 Reasons on why it is necessary to drink purified drinking water.

1. Limited Resource:

On Earth, there are approximately 1400 million cubic kilometers of water, almost all of which is salty and trapped in oceans. Only one-hundredth of one percent of the world’s water is suitable for drinking and other sanitation purposes. It would suffice if it was distributed evenly. This, however, is not the case. In Malaysia, 100 people share a million cubic meters of water, 350 in India, and 4000 in Israel. Because nearly one-third of the world’s population lacks access to safe drinking water, it is the most desirable resource. As a result, the water you’re about to drink could be contaminated.

2. Removing chemicals, pesticides, chlorine, bacterial contaminants and heavy metals:

Water supplied in large communities comes from rivers, streams, lakes, reservoirs, springs, and ground water. It contains bacteria, viruses and other heavy metals as contaminants. Municipal bodies clean it through designated water treatment systems and then supply it to the communities. As a result, it may contains chemicals and pesticides. Bacterial contamination happens in case of improper treatment. Ground water may consist of heavy metals. All of these can cause illness to the human body. Purifying once more is never a hectic task.

3. Water purification helps to Keep The Environment Safe And Clean:

People frequently buy drinking water bottles from a local supplier for daily use or smaller water cans for one-time use. Water cans used on a regular basis must be cleaned frequently and discarded after a certain period of time. Smaller bottles are intended for single use. This provides us with safe and clean water, but it also harms the environment. Water filters, on the other hand, discharge water in a safe manner as prescribed by governing bodies.

4. Better Health:

To stay hydrated and healthy, the WHO recommends drinking at least 2 liters of water per day. Water is required by our bodies for a variety of vital functions. Water keeps us hydrated, flushes out toxins, transports nutrients throughout the body, and aids digestion. Dehydration can cause headaches and loss of concentration; in fact, body hydration status has a strong influence on the brain. Furthermore, water is essential for increasing body energy levels. This is why consuming purified water on a regular basis is so important.

5. Improves the taste and odor of tap water:

Almost all municipal corporations use chlorine to disinfect community water supplies. The issue with chlorine is that it has a foul odor. Water purification reduces the amount of chlorine in the water, which eliminates the noxious odor. Furthermore, it removes soil residue, organic and inorganic impurities, resulting in improved taste and odor.

6. Purification of Water adds extra layer of security:

Developed countries posses well established facilities for water treatment. However, developing countries lack adequate facilities. The contaminant can enter through a broken pipeline, open air treatment, precipitate buildup in supply lines, and other means. Furthermore, these supply lines frequently cross through dirty drains, increasing the risk of contamination. Water purification adds an extra layer of security against all of these contaminants.

7. Purification of Water saves money:

Remember that every time you buy water, you must pay a fee. Single-use bottles are more expensive than reusable ones. Production costs, packaging, and logistics are all part of the packaged drinking water supply chain. The cost of all of this is borne by you. Water purification at home is simply a much cheaper option than purchasing packaged water every time and adding more reasons to purify water.
